Hi there!

I'm Janine, a Program in the Environment major and Writing minor at the University of Michigan. I hail from Danbury, Connecticut (my friends once voted it the most irrelevant state -- I still love it), but being born into a family that bleeds Blue it wasn't hard for me to find my way to Ann Arbor.

As a science major I don't get to do very much writing aside from research papers. I missed "flowery" writing, ie exactly what one should avoid in research papers, which is what initially prompted me to become a writing minor. I am hoping to get a masters degree in Public Health and plan on using the combination of my studies to help better communicate important health and environmental information to communities across the country.

Most of my free time is spent traveling across the country playing ultimate frisbee, and my ideal day is composed of no less than 4 hours at the beach, Cadbury creme eggs, and at least one episode of the hit TV show Survivor.

Nifty Factoids:

I am...

left-handed

slightly afraid of ice cubes

a lover of airports

very tall

a tree hugger
